What the scope actually covers
HT/LT electrical & substations
11/33 kV substation, transformers, HT and LT panels, DG sets with AMF or synchronising, cabling and bus ducts, earthing and lightning protection — sized to the machine list and the shift pattern, and taken through CEIG and the DISCOM to energisation.
Fire protection & Fire NOC
Hydrant and sprinkler systems designed to the hazard the process and storage actually create, pump rooms and tanks to NBC 2016 Part 4, detection and alarm, special suppression for DG rooms, control rooms and flammable stores — with the State Fire Service liaison in the same scope.
Process HVAC, ventilation & cleanrooms
Shed cooling and evaporative systems, process exhaust and make-up air, precision cooling for control rooms, and validated cleanrooms for pharma and food — sized against heat load and air changes, not floor area.
Water, effluent & plumbing
Raw-water treatment, process and domestic supply, hydro-pneumatic pumping, drainage, ETP and STP with the pollution-board consents, and rainwater harvesting where the sanction requires it.
ELV & plant security
CCTV over yards, docks and lines, access control at gates and clean zones, boom barriers and gate automation, PA and voice evacuation tied to the fire alarm, and structured cabling for the plant network.
Rooftop solar & DG optimisation
Rooftop solar designed with the electrical scheme — against sanctioned load and daytime consumption, on a structure the shed can carry — with net-metering and CEIG handled, and DG running cost modelled against it.

Where these projects go wrong

The machine list moved after the load was sanctioned
The transformer and the DISCOM sanction were sized from a schedule that nobody revisited when the equipment list changed. The plant is then either paying for capacity it does not use or blocked at energisation.

Fire scheme designed after the racking and process layout
Storage heights and commodity classes set the sprinkler design. When the fire scheme comes after the layout is fixed, the tank, pumps and pipe sizes are all wrong for the hazard the inspector will assess.

Utilities bought separately, coordinated by nobody
Electrical, fire, HVAC, water and security let as five contracts means five programmes, five drawing sets and every interface — cable tray against duct against sprinkler main — settled on site by whoever arrives first.

Approvals started when the building is nearly done
Fire NOC, CEIG and pollution-board consents each need drawings and design decisions taken months earlier. Started at the end, they become the item holding up production start.

One coordinated set across every discipline, with a BOQ specific enough for quotes to be compared like for like and for the site to be held to what was priced.

Fire NOC scheme, CEIG drawings, DISCOM sanction and pollution-board applications prepared alongside procurement, so no inspection is the thing holding up energisation.

For expansions inside a running plant: shutdown windows, temporary supplies and sequencing around the line are planned into the programme, not improvised on the day.

What does an industrial engineering contractor cover?

Which approvals do you handle for an industrial project?
Fire NOC (provisional and final) with the State Fire Service, CEIG drawing approval and inspection for the electrical installation, DISCOM load sanction and net-metering where solar is included, and state pollution-board consents for DG sets and treatment plants. We also prepare the MEP inputs for Factories Act plan approval, which the owner files.
Can you work inside a running plant?
Yes. Expansions and upgrades in live plants are a large share of our industrial work. Shutdown windows, temporary supplies and the sequence around production are agreed with the plant team before mobilisation, and the programme is built around them rather than around an empty site.
