Why it matters

What this system decides for your project

The hydrant system is the backbone of firefighting and the first thing the fire department checks. Correct ring-main design and pressure ensure water reaches every floor under fire conditions.

You need a quote for this if: Any building above ground-plus norms or carrying a Fire-NOC requirement.

Scope

Scope of work

The hydrant scheme is designed from the building's occupancy and height under NBC 2016 Part 4 — the number and position of internal and external hydrants, the riser size and whether it is wet or dry, the landing valves and hose reels at each floor, the yard hydrants and the fire-brigade inlet — and the ring main is sized for the flow and residual pressure the code requires at the most remote outlet with the pumps running. We supply and install the pipework, valves, hydrant fittings, hose reels, cabinets and the brigade connection.

How it is delivered — and what you receive

The network is hydrostatically tested to the code pressure and held, then flow-tested at the remote hydrant with the pumps on, so the design pressure is proven rather than assumed — this is what the fire officer witnesses. Pipe is painted, labelled and supported to the standard, and the drawings submitted for the provisional NOC are updated to as-built for the final. The client receives the test certificates, the as-built and the hydrant schedule the AMC will test against.
