India-based engineering · Remote support for Ugandan projects

MEP consultant support for Uganda projects

Get MEP calculations, drawings and BOQ checks for your Ugandan project, working with the registered engineer who carries local responsibility.

Secured Engineers Pvt. Ltd. supports consulting firms, architects, contractors and developers with scoped MEP design and document review, delivered remotely from India.

Start with one paid package. Agree the outputs, fee, programme and revisions before work begins.

Remote support with clear responsibilities. Local signing, authority submissions, site verification and supervision must be assigned to the appropriately authorised project team. We confirm the permitted scope and design criteria before accepting an appointment. In East Africa we work only as a remote MEP design consultant. We do not take supply, installation, site execution or contracting work.

Who does what on a Ugandan project

A remote MEP partner works best when these roles are named from the start. Your local team confirms the current requirements for the site.

Building Control Act 2013

Building committees issue permits, under the oversight of the National Building Review Board. Your team manages this route and confirms the required documents.

Engineers Registration Board

Regulates engineers, and has said foreign engineers working in Uganda must be certified. Name the registered engineer responsible for local engineering.

Utilities

Power and water connection details are obtained from the relevant providers and recorded as design inputs.

Fire safety

The Building Control Regulations, 2020 set minimum fire-risk standards, and Part V of the National Building Standards Code, 2019 covers escape routes, detection, alarms and firefighting systems. Your local team confirms how they apply to the site.

General orientation only, not legal or regulatory advice. Requirements change and vary by site, so confirm them with your local team.

Choose the task

Three ways to work with us

01

Independent drawing & BOQ review

For developers, architects and PMCs preparing to tender MEP works.

What you provide

Current drawings, BOQ, specifications and the contractor scope split.

Outputs to agree

A referenced issue register, discrepancies and scope gaps to close before bids are compared.

Pricing, remeasurement and redesign are agreed separately.

02

MEP design package

For local firms and architects needing MEP capacity on a defined scope.

What you provide

Brief, architecture, design criteria, utility information and required issue stage.

Outputs to agree

The agreed calculations, layouts, schedules and BOQ, ready for your registered engineer's checking.

Applicable standards and local responsibilities are agreed before work starts.

03

Coordination during construction

For project teams resolving queries and revisions.

What you provide

Backgrounds, submittals, RFIs, comments and revision history.

Outputs to agree

Agreed technical responses, coordination markups and a tracked query register.

Site inspection and supervision remain with your local team.

Design points we raise early on Ugandan work

Industrial parks

Factories in areas such as Namanve and Jinja often turn on power capacity, process loads and fire water. Check available supply before the plant layout is fixed.

Agro-processing and cold chain

Coffee, dairy and fresh produce facilities have particular process and hygiene needs. Throughput and product temperature belong in the brief, not just floor area.

Power and water resilience

Agree which loads need backup and how much water to store. These decisions affect plant rooms, tanks and the electrical design.

What a review can contain

Each finding should lead to a decision

A useful review ties an observation to its source document and the action needed from the project team.

Illustrative review format. These are fictional examples, not findings from a client project or a certification of design compliance.

Document referenceObservationAction to resolve
Electrical E-01 / utility correspondenceThe maximum demand exceeds the capacity stated in the utility letter.Resolve the load basis with the utility and lead consultant.
Process list / HVAC scheduleCold room equipment appears in the process list but not in the mechanical schedule.Confirm the package boundary and responsible supplier.
Plumbing P-02 / structure S-05The roof tank load on the plumbing drawing is not shown on the structural drawing.Confirm the location and structural allowance.

Read the scope behind the reference

These are existing published project references, with their recorded scope and limitations. They are not presented as appointments in Uganda or as evidence of local authority approval.

Sector 43 drawing and BOQ revisions

Our published project record includes correspondence recording revised fire-fighting drawings and BOQ submitted for review for the Sector 43 parking project.

The submission records revision activity; it does not establish authority approval or completed installation.

NXP MEP design

Our company profile identifies a bespoke MEP design role for NXP. The published case sets out the recorded role and considerations for a similar design appointment.

The project location remains unreconciled. The profile reference does not establish experience in Uganda, a certified performance result or an approval outcome.

From enquiry to agreed deliverables

Begin with a manageable paid pilot

One system, one discipline or one drawing set gives both teams a defined first assignment. Enquiries can concern projects in Kampala, Entebbe, Jinja, Mbarara, Gulu and other districts.

Working in more than one country? See our global MEP consultancy support.

  1. Confirm fit and confidentiality

Share a brief and document list. Agree any NDA before confidential files are exchanged.

  2. Agree the appointment

Set the design basis, inputs, outputs, fee currency, payment milestones, deadline and revision allowance.

  3. Review the first issue

Receive the agreed package, assumptions and open queries. Consolidate comments through the nominated project contact.

  4. Close comments and decide the next scope

Track responses and revisions against the appointment. Agree any additional work separately.

India is 2.5 hours ahead of Uganda, which leaves most of the Kampala working day open for calls and reviews.

Before you appoint a remote MEP partner

Do you supply equipment or carry out installation?

No. In East Africa we work only as a remote MEP design consultant. We do not take supply, installation, site execution or contracting work. If you need a contractor, we can review their drawings, BOQ or proposal for you.

Are you registered in Uganda?

This page does not present Secured Engineers as registered in Uganda. Our offices are in Ludhiana and Noida, India, and we offer remote design and document support. Each appointment must name the registered local engineer responsible for checking, signing and submissions.

Do you handle building permits?

No. This page does not offer Ugandan permits, authority approvals or site supervision. Your local team owns those routes, and we provide agreed drawings or calculations as inputs where they are in scope.

Which standards do you design to?

We agree the design basis with the client and responsible local engineer for each appointment, and confirm our capability against it before accepting the scope.

Can we start with one package?

Yes. Start with one discipline, one drawing set or one review as a paid pilot. We agree the inputs, deliverables, fee, programme and included revisions first.

How are fees quoted?

We review the discipline scope, drawing quality, design stage, outputs and deadline before quoting. The proposal states the fee currency, payment milestones and revision allowance.

Discuss your Uganda project scope

Tell us what needs designing, checking or coordinating. We confirm suitability, inputs, deliverables, fee and programme before engineering starts.

In East Africa we work only as a remote MEP design consultant. We do not take supply, installation, site execution or contracting work.

What do you need?

Please mention the district, project stage and whether a registered engineer is appointed.

Have documents? Agree any NDA first, then share them by WhatsApp or email. This form does not upload files.

ONE PARTNER. END TO END. You focus on your business — we handle the rest.
