India-based engineering · Remote support across East Africa

MEP consultant support for East Africa projects

Add defined MEP design, BOQ review and coordination capacity to your project in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda or Ethiopia, alongside the registered local team.

Secured Engineers Pvt. Ltd. supports consulting firms, architects, contractors, developers and factory owners with scoped HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire documents, delivered remotely from India.

Start with one paid package. Agree the outputs, fee, programme and revisions before work begins.

Remote support with clear responsibilities. Local signing, authority submissions, site verification and supervision must be assigned to the appropriately authorised project team. We confirm the permitted scope and design criteria before accepting an appointment. In East Africa we work only as a remote MEP design consultant. We do not take supply, installation, site execution or contracting work.

One region, five different rulebooks

Each country has its own building rules and engineering regulator. We record the applicable route in the design basis, and your local team confirms it for the site.

Kenya

National Building Code 2024, with engineers regulated by the Engineers Board of Kenya and projects registered with the National Construction Authority.

Tanzania

Firms offering professional engineering services must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board. The Fire and Rescue Force issues fire safety certificates.

Uganda

Building Control Act 2013 and its regulations, with permits issued by building committees and engineers regulated by the Engineers Registration Board.

Rwanda and Ethiopia

Rwanda has a performance-based Building Code. Ethiopia uses EBCS standards alongside its 2024 building proclamation. Confirm the current versions locally.

General orientation only, not legal or regulatory advice. Requirements change and vary by site, so confirm them with your local team.

Choose the task

Three ways to work with us

01

Drawing & BOQ review

For developers, consultants and contractors preparing a tender or checking a quote.

What you provide

Current drawings, BOQ, specifications and the contractor scope split.

Outputs to agree

A referenced issue register, drawing–BOQ discrepancies and scope questions for your team to resolve.

Pricing, remeasurement and redesign are agreed separately.

02

MEP design package

For local firms and architects needing MEP capacity on a defined scope.

What you provide

Brief, architecture, design criteria, utility information and required issue stage.

Outputs to agree

The agreed calculations, layouts, schedules and BOQ, ready for your registered engineer's checking.

Local signing and submissions stay with your registered team.

03

Coordination & revisions

For project teams closing clashes, comments or design changes.

What you provide

Backgrounds, MEP drawings, comments and revision history.

Outputs to agree

Coordination markups, a tracked query register and agreed drawing updates.

Site inspection and supervision remain with your local team.

Design points that change across the region

Altitude

Mombasa and Dar es Salaam are at sea level, while Nairobi is at about 1,800 m and Addis Ababa at about 2,350 m. Altitude affects generators, fans and cooling, so it belongs in every equipment selection.

Power reliability

Outages can shape a factory, cold store or hospital design. Agree which loads must stay on, then coordinate backup generation, solar and changeover early.

Cold chain and agro-processing

Cold storage is a growing need in the region's horticulture and food sectors. Throughput, product temperature and door traffic usually drive the plant more than room size does.

What a review can contain

Each finding should lead to a decision

A useful review ties an observation to its source document and the action needed from the project team.

Illustrative review format. These are fictional examples, not findings from a client project or a certification of design compliance.

Document referenceObservationAction to resolve
Generator schedule E-05 / site dataThe rating is stated at standard conditions, with no derating shown for the site altitude.Confirm the site-rated output with supplier data.
Cold room brief / refrigeration quoteThe quote states room size but not daily product intake or door traffic.Define the operating brief and ask the supplier to confirm the load.
Fire F-01 / BOQ §6The fire water tank is drawn, but the pump-room valves are not itemised.Add the items or confirm the package boundary.

Read the scope behind the reference

These are existing published project references, with their recorded scope and limitations. They are not presented as appointments in East Africa or as evidence of local authority approval.

Chandigarh, India · Consultancy

Sector 43 drawing and BOQ revisions

Our published project record includes correspondence recording revised fire-fighting drawings and BOQ submitted for review for the Sector 43 parking project.

The submission records revision activity; it does not establish authority approval or completed installation.

NXP MEP design

Our company profile identifies a bespoke MEP design role for NXP. The published case sets out the recorded role and considerations for a similar design appointment.

The project location remains unreconciled. The profile reference does not establish experience in East Africa, a certified performance result or an approval outcome.

From enquiry to agreed deliverables

Begin with a manageable paid pilot

One system, one discipline or one drawing set gives both teams a defined first assignment. Enquiries can concern projects in Nairobi, Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Kampala, Kigali, Addis Ababa and across the region.

Working in more than one country? See our global MEP consultancy support.

  1. Confirm fit and confidentiality

Share a brief and document list. Agree any NDA before confidential files are exchanged.

  2. Agree the appointment

Set the design basis, inputs, outputs, fee currency, payment milestones, deadline and revision allowance.

  3. Review the first issue

Receive the agreed package, assumptions and open queries. Consolidate comments through the nominated project contact.

  4. Close comments and decide the next scope

Track responses and revisions against the appointment. Agree any additional work separately.

India is 2.5 hours ahead of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia, and 3.5 hours ahead of Rwanda, so most of the regional working day overlaps with ours.

Before you appoint a remote MEP partner

Do you supply equipment or carry out installation?

No. In East Africa we work only as a remote MEP design consultant. We do not take supply, installation, site execution or contracting work. If you need a contractor, we can review their drawings, BOQ or proposal for you.

Do you have an office in East Africa?

No. Our offices are in Ludhiana and Noida, India, and this offer is for remote design and document support. This page does not present Secured Engineers as locally registered in any East African country. Each appointment must name the registered local professional responsible for checking, signing, submissions and site work.

Which countries do you support?

Enquiries are welcome for Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Ethiopia. We confirm the applicable design basis and the registered local route with you before accepting a scope.

Can a project owner contact you directly?

Yes. Send your requirement and tell us whether a registered local engineer or firm is appointed. We then confirm a suitable scope and responsibilities with you before any engineering starts.

Can we start with one package?

Yes. Start with one discipline, one drawing set or one review as a paid pilot. We agree the inputs, deliverables, fee, programme and included revisions first.

Can we share confidential drawings?

Tell us your confidentiality requirements first and agree any NDA before sending confidential files. This enquiry form does not upload project files.

Discuss your East Africa project scope

Tell us what needs designing, checking or coordinating. We confirm suitability, inputs, deliverables, fee and programme before engineering starts.

In East Africa we work only as a remote MEP design consultant. We do not take supply, installation, site execution or contracting work.

What do you need?

Please mention the country, city, project stage and whether a registered local engineer is appointed.

Have documents? Agree any NDA first, then share them by WhatsApp or email. This form does not upload files.

ONE PARTNER. END TO END. You focus on your business — we handle the rest.
