What this system decides for your project
Uptime depends on backup that switches in cleanly. Properly sized transformers and synchronised DG sets protect operations from grid failure without over-spending on capacity.
You need a quote for this if: Any facility needing standby power, a captive transformer or DG synchronisation.
Scope of work
Transformer capacity is sized from the sanctioned load and the maximum demand with the growth the client expects, and DG capacity from the loads that must ride through an outage — with the starting characteristics of motors and the harmonic content of drives taken into account, not just the connected kW. We design the AMF or synchronising scheme, the changeover, the fuel system and the exhaust, and the foundations, acoustic enclosure and ventilation the sets need. Supply and installation cover the transformers, DG sets, panels, cabling, earthing, fuel and exhaust systems.
How it is delivered — and what you receive
DG sets are installed to the CPCB noise and emission norms with the acoustic enclosure and stack height the pollution-board consent requires, and their electrical connection is part of the CEIG submission where the state's threshold applies. Transformers are tested for insulation resistance, ratio and oil breakdown voltage before energisation; DG sets are load-tested and the AMF or synchronisation sequence proven under a simulated grid failure. The client receives the test reports, the consent documentation and the changeover logic.

Hiring a transformers & dg sets contractor — what to check
A DG set is sold as equipment and delivered as an installation, and the gap between the two is where factory projects lose weeks. The set is the simple part. The approvals, the emissions compliance, the acoustic enclosure, the fuel storage and the changeover logic are the contract.
- Who owns the statutory file. Emission compliance for the engine class, the electrical inspector's clearance where your state's threshold applies, and a PESO licence where the diesel stored crosses the licensing quantity. Confirm which of these the contractor is filing and which they expect you to.
- The exhaust stack is not a convenience decision. Stack height follows the norm applicable to your set. It is set at design, and moving it after the foundation is poured is expensive.
- Changeover and interlocks. AMF panel, changeover scheme and the interlocks with the grid supply and any solar plant. A DG that back-feeds or fights an inverter is an integration failure written into the design, not bad luck on site.
- Commissioning under real load. Load-bank or actual-load testing with readings, not a no-load run. Ask what the commissioning record will contain before you award.
